Abril Castilloはメキシコ国立自治大学スペイン文学学科卒のイラストレーター、編集者、作家。「Oink Editions」のメンバーの一人です。子どもの学術書や教科書を制作。また、メキシコ、スペイン、チリ、コロンビアの大学で講義やワークショップを行った経験も持ちます。メキシコ、フランス、コロンビア、アラブ首長国連邦、コスタリカで個展を開催したことも。現在は、Santiago Solis、Juan Palomino、Jesús Cisnerosと共にメキシコ国立自治大学で「House: Illustration Narrative」というコースを推進しています。2007年に「国際子ども読書フェア」の「イラストレーターカタログ賞」第３位を、2013年にはメキシコのポスターコンテストで第１位を受賞。自分の手料理が描くことが好きで、趣味は良書、悪書にかかわらず本をたくさん読むこと、テレビ観賞、水泳、旅行です 。

Abril Castillo studied Spanish Literature at UNAM (Mexico National University). She´s an illustrator, editor, and writer. Abril has worked for magazines and publishers of children's, academic and textbooks. She has given lectures and workshops at universities and book fairs in Mexico, Spain, Chile, and Colombia. Along with Santiago Solis, Juan Palomino and Jesus Cisneros coordinate the diploma "House: illustration narrative" at UNAM. She won the 3rd place of the Catalogue of Illustrators of FILIJ (International Children's Book Fair) in 2007, and the 1st place on the poster contest "Invitemos a leer” (Let's invite to read) in 2013 in Mexico City. Her work has been exhibited in Mexico, France, United States, Venezuela, Chile, Colombia, United Arab Emirates, and Costa Rica. She is a member of Oink Editions. Abril likes drawing her food, reading good and bad books, watching TV and swimming; and every time she can, she likes traveling.
